Today I was at work and had a light bulb moment. A petal lamp shade! I already had the petals left over from my wedding and an old lamp shade. I went and got some extra petals from the dollar store (just in case) and pulled out the handy glue gun.

Be careful not to burn your fingers. You may want to use a thimble to protect the tips of your fingers, as you press the petal to the shade.
